26-28th May  – Attended the 5th International M-libs conference in Hong Kong, with thanks to John Campbell’s Trust for granting me their Travel Bursary.

June –  #uklibchat: Connecting LIS professionals for 3 years (co-written with Linsey Chrisman)

2-3 June – Presented on #uklibchat at CILIPS conference in Dundee.

22 July-  Book Review: UContent: The Information Professional’s Guide to User-Generated Content published in The Serials Librarian

16th May – Visited the BMA Library  – and wrote an article on visit for the London Links website

25th May – Took part in the ACE Envisioning  the Library of the Future Discussion Workshop @ Canada Water Library. Invited due to involvement in #uklibchat

21st June: Started work as researcher, researching Chinese legislation on records retention management. (short term contract)

29th June – Attended the LIKE Ideas 2012 Conference: The Business of Social Media. Sponsored by Sue Hill

12th July:  Presented at the ARCLIB 25th Anniversary conference on #uklibchat You can view the presentation on Prezi HERE

11th August: Helped to catalogue collection of law books in Oxford. (short term)

20th August: Started in my first professional role: Online Support Librarian! (maternity cover)


May 2011   Presented on fostering student Peer to Peer communications at the Brighton Lib Teach Meet. In the form of  a song.
20th June 2011  Co-presented a paper with Joseph Norwood at the 2011 New Professional’s Conference held in Manchester.
July 2011  Received CILIP’s Henrik Jones Prize for Excellence in Information Retrieval.
July 2011  Co-founded #UKlibchat, which runs fortnightly Twitter chat sessions on LIS relevant topics.
8th October 2011 Facilitated a session on the use of Social Media in the profession, at Library Camp UK 2011 in Birmingham.
25th October 2011 Part of CPD25  student panel on: Applying the Library School… And Beyond! Conference
5th November 2011  Presented a translation of an oral interview at dissemination and exhibition event for the Legacy of Limehouse Chinatown project
